About
"Biraradadans is a dance platform that was initiated in 2019 and is spearheaded by Levent Soy and Zîlan Kaki. Leveraging our extensive involvement in the Kardes Turkuler project and years of experience in the realm of dance, we aim to impart our accumulated knowledge.
Our approach to dance is rooted in the exploration of local and traditional dance traditions hailing from Anatolia, Mesopotamia, and the Balkans. We refrain from adhering to a conventional, rigid style of dance instruction, which involves rote memorization of steps within a structured team setting. Instead, our objective is to enable participants to grasp the rhythmic and physical essence of these dance forms, fostering their ability to dance comfortably within the specific form we are currently focusing on.
To achieve this, we regularly host training sessions dedicated to specific dance forms, collaboratively creating dance sequences with participants at the foundational level. Additionally, as dance artists deeply committed to this field, we showcase our own productions through live performances and dance videos under the banner of biraradadans."
Dance welcomes anyone, regardless of their experience, age, or occupation. It's for everyone who has the desire and determination to participate.
